Panama City, Fl. -

Internationally known cartoonist and Panama City native Gary Brookins recently paid a visit to the Bay County Library where his political cartoons and satire were on display.

Brookins spent 30 years as an editorial cartoonist. He stopped doing political satire three years ago and now focuses on his comic strip "Pluggers" which is syndicated in over 80 newspapers nationwide.

The Bay High School and Gulf Coast State College alum says a number of his ideas for his comic strip are submitted by readers in the Florida Panhandle.

Brookins also does the artwork for the comic strip "Shoe" and is also an avid painter working out of his home in Richmond Virginia.
