The devastation from Superstorm Sandy continues to shock the nation. While the road to recovery has just begun, one Bay County franchise is doing it's part to help.
Beef'O'Brady's is stepping up with a nationwide event, but three of the locations in Bay County are participating by donating a percentage of the proceeds to help the victims of the storm.
"We all know the effects of hurricanes, and the effects they have on us. Just the devastation they're feeling right now, our hearts go out to them, and we want to do everything we possibly can to help them," says Natalie Whittington, the general manager of the Lynn Haven location.
All three Beef'O'Brady's in Bay County are donating 10-15 percent of the proceeds made Thursday to help victim's hit by Sandy.
For the customers, it's their way of sending help to a far away disaster that hits so close to home.
"Just to give them all the support that we can because we've been through the same thing with hurricanes here in the Panhandle. We've been here since Hurricane Opal we know what it's like to evacuate and have things torn up and destroyed," says customer Matt Standish.
"I think its a good cause. It's good to know that you can go out into the community, particularly down here so far away, and that they have made the effort to allow the customers to come in and contribute in an indirect way," says customer John Drummond.
Between all three locations they're are expecting to donate more than 1000 dollars.
