While many families are dealing with the financial consequences of Hurricane Sandy, some children are left with very few personal items after the storm. But one Bay County Resident is trying to make a difference.
Heather Price came up with the idea for a backpack drive for kids affected by the storm. To help make this difficult time a little easier, the backpacks are being filled with activity books, crayons, games, hats and other trinkets. Area Scouts are also helping with the program.
Price was inspired to start the backpack drive after hearing her hometown of Old Bridge, New Jersey was severely affected by Sandy. Prosperity Bank teamed up with Price by accepting donations at all of their Bay County locations.
You can fill a backpack with supplies, then drop it off at any Prosperity Bank location in Bay County by November 15th.
