Various aging buildings throughout Jackson county will soon get the repairs commissioners say are seriously needed.
Some preliminary assessments of those buildings reveal much needed roof repairs and even some structural damage.
The old health department facility, the community development building, and the Jackson County Sheriffs Office all need their roof repaired.
Commissioners earmarked an estimated 750,000 dollars in their budget back in July for repairs but it's unknown just how much money all repairs will amount to for those three buildings.
County commissioner Jeremy Branch says it's an issue of safety to get the roofs fixed. But today, commissioners decided to discuss this issue and its cost further in a workshop in a couple of weeks.
