Attorneys for Bay County file changes to a lawsuit against a healthcare technology company that allegedly misused state and local funds.
Shad Wheeler the CEO of Redpine has been added to the defendants in the lawsuit seeking to recoup the $750,000 paid out to the company to relocate.
In July, Redpine promised to use the incentive dollars to move the company and its key personnel to Panama City, but according to the complaint filed on November 7th, the county alleges Wheeler spent most of the money to pay off personal debts and expenses.
The county is now demanding to be paid back for the alleged fraud, in the sum of $350,000 plus interest and court costs. The state gave $400,000. Both have taken the company to court to recoup the cost.
