
Liberty County softball stand-out Carly Sapp inked with the DII North Alabama Lions with Wednesday morning. Carly plays catcher and center field for the Lady Bulldogs, who ahve appeared in back to back Regional Finals. Carly capped off last season with a .474 batting average, driving in 28 runs, and blasting 3 triples and 2 home runs. She's also speedy on the base path, as she was 9-10 in stolen bases. Carly was the top recruit for the Lions, and says making the decision to go there was an easy one.
"I picked North Alabama because it's a beautiful place," she says. "I feel safe there. The facilities are nice, the campus is really good, I just felt like it was the best fit for me. It's great, it's awesome. I'm so excited. I've worked hard for this, it's just so exciting."
Carly said she's leaning towards an education major in college.
