Three Charged with Opening Fraudulent Bank Account

On November 20, 2012, the Jackson County Sheriff's Office received information of an attempted fraudulent act at Cadence Bank on Hwy 71 South Marianna, Florida.

The incident involved subjects passing through the area that attempted to open a checking account with a fraudulent check in hopes of withdrawing funds from the account before the bank could determine the deposited check was fraudulent.  The subjects declined to open the account when they were advised by the bank that they would not be able to withdraw funds until the checks cleared and attempted to flee the area. 

Deputies located the suspect vehicle traveling on Lafayette St. in Marianna a short time after the incident and conducted a traffic stop.  After a subsequent investigation, Elizabeth Darlene Badmus, Brandon Meadows and a male Juvenile were arrested for Attempting to Commit Bank Fraud and Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud.  Elizabeth Darlene Badmus and Brandon Meadows were housed in Jackson County Correctional Facility.  The male juvenile was housed at Bay Detention facility.
