Panama City Beach, Fla. -

At this time next year, Bay County could be starring on the big screen. 'East Side Story', a tribute to the academy award winning film 'West Side Story' is now shooting in Panama City and you could be a part of it.

To celebrate the love story's 50th anniversary, actor and director, David Winters is casting actors and dancers for the ‘East Side Story', right in town. "We're looking from great dancers. All you great dancers you show up and audition for us." Winters says.

The film already has dancers like Russell Ferguson and Jordan Clark, winners of ‘So You Think You Can Dance'.

Some of the scenes already chosen include the Shores of Panama, a diner on Front Beach Road, Goofy Golf and Club La Vela, to name a few. "So you've got some very unique things. It's very visual and very rich. It's a wonderful place for people to fall in love. It's a great background and atmosphere to bloom with young people." Winters says.

For film commissioner, Julie Gordon, this is exactly what she's been trying to portray to filmmakers. "It's extremely exciting; I've been working on this since February of this year." Gordon says.

The Florida Film Office estimates films bring in about $4 to 13 million each year and by the looks of it, the film could crush these numbers.

Winters and his crew will be here checking out the talent; they are expected to be done filming by April. If you're interested in auditioning, send your videos to eastsidestorypcb@gmail.com
