On December 6th, 2012 at approximately 3:46 p.m., Officers with the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a Black Ford passenger vehicle on Milton Avenue after officers observed the vehicle being operated by Robert L. Garrett.  It was known to officers that Garrett's driver's license is suspended.  Garrett pulled the vehicle into a driveway of a residence on Milton Ave. and fled from the vehicle on foot.  Garrett was apprehended and was placed into custody.

While officers were on scene with the vehicle as it was being towed, Joshua Garrett, brother of Robert Garrett, arrived on scene and was impeding officers during the investigation.  Joshua Garrett then struck an officer on scene and actively resisted arrest at which time he was tased and was taken into custody.

Both subjects are charged with the above listed charges as well as violation of their county probation.  Robert Garrett and Joshua Garrett were both transported to the Marianna Police Department for processing and later taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
