Two Charged with Retail Theft from Wal-Mart

On December 04 at approximately 11:49 a.m. the Chipley Police Department received a call from the Wal-Mart Supercenter that several subjects had left the store without paying for their merchandise.

Wal-Mart Loss Prevention employee was able to provide officers with a description of the vehicle and a direction of travel. A few minutes later officers with the CPD observed the vehicle and were able to stop the vehicle on Main Street.

Once we got the vehicle stopped we identified four female subjects, two male subjects, and a small baby in the SUV. We located inside the vehicle, over 100 items that had just been stole from Wal-Mart. The value of the stolen merchandise totaled over $1200.00.

The stolen items consisted of children's clothing, some food items, personal hygiene items, toys, and electronics. Arrested and charged with grand theft are two Marianna residents, 21 year old Jarodo Antoni Rhynes and 19 year old Devonta Antwan McDuffie. More charges are pending in this investigation.
