Representative Jimmy Patronis is thinking about his future by running for the Florida Senate; he recently filed papers to run for the District 1 seat in 2016.
District 1 is currently held by Senator Don Gaetz, who is now serving his last term. Patronis says now is a great chance for him to dive into the Senate, while following in Gaetz footsteps.
"Senator Gaetz has done an incredible job for Northwest Florida and for our state, but with the opportunity that term limits does bring, I think that it is important that I work down that path." Patronis adds.
Patronis was elected to the district 6 seat in 2006. Because of term limits, he will be out of office in 2014. Patronis says he looks forward to the years ahead and is happy to have the love and support from family and friends on his new endeavor.
