Wednesday night marks the fifth night of Hanukkah. The festival is observed by lighting candles on the eight branches of a menorah which represents the miracle of the oil used for lighting candles lasting for eight days when there was only enough for one day during the Maccabean revolt. "The eighth night is just like the other nights a lot of families might fry potato latkes and donuts still they may sing songs it's not a very religious holiday this is more of a fun holiday than the other holidays that we celebrate," Alvin Gingold secretary of Temple B'nai Israel said.
