Franklin County Sheriff's Office Investigating Homicide

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation after a body was found off of State Road 30A. Officers believe foul play is suspected.

Investigators say at around 1:00 p.m Wednesday, the sheriff's office received a call about a possible dead body in the area of State Road 30A in Franklin County. An officer arrived on scene just off of 10 mile road on 30A and discovered the body of 68 year old Cynthia Green of Apalachicola down by the shore. Deputies say at this time it is unknown how long Green's body had been lying there. Undersheriff Joel Norred says right now they're searching for leads.

"We really appreciate any information that we can get from citizens that may have heard or seen anything that could have occurred," Norred said.

Investigators are not yet releasing how Green died. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is assisting in the investigation

The Franklin County Sheriff's Office (FCSO), with the assistance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, is conducting a death investigation where foul play is suspected.

Around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, FCSO received calls referencing a deceased individual in the area of State Road 30A, 10 miles west of Apalachicola.

The victim has been positively identified as 68-year-old Cynthia A. Green who lives in Apalachicola.
