The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year for mail and packages. With December 25th quickly approaching, you want to make sure the gifts arrive before Christmas.
While its Santa's job to deliver the presents on Christmas Eve, the ones he doesn't drop off, the United States Postal Service handles.
The Postal Service expects to deliver more than 365 million packages, 20 percent increase from last year.
According to Kristal Church with USPS, it's keeping them very busy. "For the most part, the Postal Service at the beach location is the busiest location in Panama City. We get a lot of traffic through here to mail packages and to pick up packages mailed to them during the Christmas season."
To make sure your gift gets to your loved ones on time, the united states postal service says to mail by these dates:
Dec. 14th- parcel post
Dec. 20th- First Class Priority Mail
Dec. 21st- Priority Mail
Dec. 22nd- Express Mail.
One last thing to keep in mind, Monday, December 17th is expected to be the busiest day at the Post Office.
The Post Office will be open on Christmas Eve, but it will be closed Christmas Day.
