Panama City Beach is getting an economic boost as thousands of winter visitors spend a few months in Bay County.
Every year nearly 250,000 snowbirds come down spending nearly $7,800 per couple during their average 71-day stay.
Friday at the Visitor Center, businesses came in to offer information to the retirees to make their stay more pleasant.
Visitor Service Manager Barrie Ainslie says in many ways it a reunion for many of the winter tourists.
"It's nice to see everybody again people have not seen each other in a year they just enjoy it. I love being on the ground floor. I love putting it together," says Ainslie.
For the last few years, the Visitor Center has held four visitor appreciation days to welcome our northern visitors.
