Walton Deputies Investigating Shooting Incident - WMBB News 13 - The Panhandle's News Leader

Walton County Sheriff's Office deputies and investigators responded to a 911 call at approximately 1:24 a.m. on January 3^rd in reference to a shots fired call that occurred in the area of State Road 285 and Interstate 10.

According to statements taken, two victims were traveling southbound on State Road 285 when a dark colored SUV pulled beside them and began to open fire.  The suspect vehicle pulled in front of the victim's vehicle, stopped, and a suspect jumped out of the SUV and charged the victims.

Several rounds were fired during the attack, with one striking the male victim in the leg.  A struggle ensued but the suspects left the scene shortly thereafter and headed northbound on 285.  The armed suspect is described as a black male wearing a hoodie and a mask. 

Evidence was recovered from the scene of the attack.  The victim's vehicle was towed and impounded to be processed as a crime scene. The male victim was treated for his wound at a nearby hospital.

Investigators are still investigating this incident.
