
January 21 a federal holiday will honor the Reverend Martin Luther King, Junior, but some Bay County citizens got a head start on Saturday .
"ACURE" hosted its 26th annual Doctor Martin Luther King, Junior march, from the courthouse, through downtown Panama City, to pay tribute to the late civil rights leader. As many as 200 people participated the march, including longtime resident and former Lynn Haven Mayor Sharon Sheffield.
"Naturally you don't get every one you want but when I look at the diversity of the people that are here today it makes my heart flutter because we don't stand alone we stand together", says Sheffield.
Following the march, several speakers shared their experiences from the civil rights movement, and how Doctor King influenced their lives.
