
UPDATE: The Florida Highway Patrol has charged a Panama City man with DUI manslaughter in connection with a pedestrian hit on Sunday night.
According to the FHP, William Scott Rhodes has been charged with one count of DUI manslaughter following an accident on Joan Avenue Sunday night.
Around 6:15 Sunday evening on Joan Avenue near Houston Street, Rhodes was driving northbound on Joan Avenue and struck the pedestrian, 37-year-old James Gladney, on the right side of the roadway.
Authorities said the right side of Rhodes' car collided with Gladney. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rhodes was charged with driving under the influence on Sunday and booked into the Bay County Jail. The charges were updated today.
