Bryant Retires; Panama City Seeks New City Attorney

Posted: Updated:

Rowlett W. Bryant has been the city attorney for Panama City for much of his life. Tuesday tonight Mayor Brudnicki celebrated his service and announced his retirement as the city commission meeting. Bryant has practiced law since passing the Florida Bar in 1962.

Brudnicki says Rowlett will be sorely missed as the legal representative of Panama City and after a long career he deserves to relax.

"He's always got the answers," said Brudnicki. "He's so bright and you can get information that you need and he puts it in perspective."

"So your sad to see him go?"

"I am," said Brudnicki. "He's done a great job for the city, but he's 76 years old. He needs to take it easy."

The board also discussed finding a new firm and put a system in place to start that process and collect applications for a new firm to take over. Mayor Brudnicki says he wants to make the process as simple as possible and find a good fit for the city.
