The 2013 Oyster Bash will kick off this weekend on Saturday January 26, 2013 at 1pm to benefit the Sealab Restoration Project. The Man in the Sea Museum is home to the historical experimental underwater habitat, Sealab which was built right here in Bay County back in 1964. Over the years, the world's first underwater living habitat (Sealab) has started to rust away but with Oyster Bash fundraiser a part of history can be preserved. "The heart of any community is with its history...so for having Sealab which changed ocean history throughout the world that was started here in Bay County and is still here I think should be an icon and something everyone takes a look at," Florida State University Professor Michael Zinszer said.
Oyster Bash will run 1pm-8pm on Saturday at The Dive Lab located at 1415 Moyland Road, Panama City Beach, FL. For more information click on the following link.
