Van Brian Barton is in jail after police said he bought thousands of dollars worth of things with fake checks.
Parker Police said Barton bought a car from an area car dealer with a check. That check wasn't linked to an account, and Barton sent the dealer a second fake check.
He also made purchases at a pawn shop.
Parker Police served a search warrant and found computers and printers used to make fake checks. They were able to recover some of the items in that search.
Police are unsure how much Barton actually has because they're expecting more victims to come forward. They also said the Bay County Sheriff's Office and the Panama City Police Department have cases against Barton.
