On Monday night, the Bay District School Board held two workshops to propose recommendations for student dress code and school start and end times. The board recommended changes to the current dress code policies such as students not having to wear belts, eliminating the tucked shirt policy, and allowing hoodies with approved colors and logos.
In addition to new dress code policies, the board also made recommendations for school hours. The proposed times were 8:30am-3:00pm for high school students, 8:10am-2:40pm for middle school students and 7:45am-2:15 at the elementary students. The changes to instructional minutes would require negotiations with ABCE.
