THE HISTORIC ST. ANDREWS WATERFRONT PARKNERSHIP SUBMITTED AN APPLICATION TO PANAMA CITY ASKING FOR PERMISSION TO USE THE ST. ANDREWS MARINA.
The Historic St. Andrews Waterfront Partnership submitted an application to Panama City Tuesday, asking for permission to use the St. Andrews Marina for a farmer's market location.
They are also trying to develop a partnership with the Panama City Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).
Now that the commission has granted the permit plans for the market, they are planning to open under new management starting March 2nd.
This comes after the Historic St. Andrew's Waterfront Partnership parted ways with Waterfront Markets Inc. after disagreement over handbook guidelines and vendors lists.
William Whitson with the Panama City CRA says the market has been heavily supported by the people in the community and they are happy to come to it's aid.
"The community said they would like it so the CRA has said we will assist you in having the market," said Whitson. "The commission granted the permit request, so we are going to step forward and form a new partnership with the group and we are going to make that happen."
