Bay County Students Participating In The Tom Barefield History Fair.
Students from around Bay County took a look back in history and at events which changed the world.
Nearly 500 middle and high school students spent Tuesday at Gulf Coast State College participating in the Tom Barefield History Fair.
Each student had their choice one of five category, such as the traditional exhibit style project, but there are 4 others like documentary, web site, historic paper, and live preferment's.
Marrett Brown Middle School history teacher Susan Granberg says what excites her about most about the history fair is it's the students place to shine.
"And if they can shine at the history fair because they know something and love something its a way its a stage for them to say look, look what I did, and they are always going to talk about it, I have students today that come back from the high schools and visit me and it just thrills me when I know that I have given them a love of history and a love of learning," says Ms Granberg.
Judging took place Tuesday night and winners were announced last night, all the winners will then move on to the state competition in Tallahassee.
