Chipley Man Charged with Sexual Battery on a Child

The Washington County Sheriff's Office reports the arrest of a Chipley man on sexual battery charges.

Washington County Sheriff's Office was alerted to the suspected sexual battery involving a child on February 11, 2013.  If convicted, the charges carry a minimum/mandatory of life in prison.

Arrested was:

Zachary Lee Varnes, 19 year old white male of Chipley, FL

  • Sexual Battery On a Victim Under 12 Years of Age
  • Lewd and Lascivious Molestation On a Victim Less Than 16 Years of Age
