Lawmakers could be putting a stop to red light cameras. Thursday in Tallahassee the Economic Affairs Committee took up the issue.
Representative Jimmy Patronis,
District 6, tells News 13 the committee voted 10 to 8 to repeal all traffic infraction
detectors after a 2-hour discussion.
Here in our area the only currently installed red light camera is in Campbellton in Jackson County. The City could not be reached for comment this afternoon.
The bill will still have to gain passage by the full house and senate and then get the governor's signature. The legislative session begins March 5.
