Twice a year, Edgewater Gymnastics hosts two meets. This weekend, the first of those two taking over Edgewater Beach Resort for the 9th Annual Edgewater Classic. Meet director Pam Kitchen says the meet is a direct boost to the economy.
"With over 500 gymnasts representing 11 different states, this is a great boost for the economic impact for Panama City Beach. We have families coming down, their relatives, the coaches, the gymnasts, so a lot of people on Panama City Beach for a great event."
The Classic wraps up on Sunday.
