    • Padgett Rd is still closed to thru traffic and impassable.
    • Berrian Lake Rd. is not passable.
    • Water on Landing Rd. is approx. 50 yrds from the two houses at the end.
    • Cedar Lake Log Rd still has about 2 to 3 inches of water across road down near the public boat ramp but is passable.
    • Roads in Bunker passable little water on Boone Ln.
    • Cedar Log Lake Public Boat Ramp parking area is still under water in most places.
    • The boat ramp on Old Creek Rd. is completely underwater.
    • The mobile home at the end of Old Creek Rd. at boat ramp has water up to the doors possibly inside their residence.

    Washington County

    Below is the most current road list from the Washington County Public Works Dept.  Those highlighted are closed.  Residents should use caution on all Washington County roads since barricaded areas due to extensive washouts are not listed.  Road crews are working in the most critical, accessible areas today; however, several locations will remain closed due to continued flooding.

    Additionally, the river is expected to crest at lower levels in both Caryville and Ebro; however, Ebro is currently experiencing major flooding.  A Red Cross Shelter is set up at the Ebro Town Hall. Anyone needing more information can contact the shelter at 890-9445 or Emergency Management at 638-6203.

    The Washington County Emergency Management Office has sandbags for individuals and businesses that have water approaching structures.  Sandbags will be available at the Red Cross Shelter in Ebro after 9AM today.  Dirt piles for sand bags have been positioned at the following locations:

    TUESDAY'S ROAD CLOSURES

    Bay County

    Walton County

    The Walton County Sheriff's Office, in coordination with the Walton County Board of County Commissioners, has issued a local state of emergency for Walton County as of Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:43 am.

    This issuance of a local state of emergency is in response to local areas of flooding in the southeastern part of the county in and around the Choctawhatchee River.  

    Updates or further information will be provided to the public when it is available.

    Franklin County

    The Franklin County Board of County Commissioners' at this time is issuing a VOLUNTARY EVACUATION NOTICE for: Residents living along the Apalachicola River and campsites starting at the Hickory Landing on Owl Creek and continuing South along Hwy 65. Please be aware this status could change very quickly to mandatory as the water starts coming down from the North.  The national weather service at this time is anticipating that the river level at Blountstown to reach 25 feet by Thursday and this does not include the water that will be coming from the Chipola River. The residents living along the Apalachicola River around the city of Apalachicola are not under this notice at this time. Please monitor the river levels and start preparing now for possible flooding in this area later in the week. Sand bags are available at the County State Yard off of Bluff Road in Apalachicola. Please only take what you need.

    This is a precautionary notice, and is NOT mandatory.  However, the evacuation is strongly advised.

    Jackson County

    A number of dirt roads still closed and under water. EOC officials continue to monitor the river, expecting it to crest today. No major roadways are closed at this time.

    Gulf County

    At their regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 9:00am ET, the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners declared a Local State of Emergency for the North Florida Flood. At this time no evacuation orders have been issued. For additional information, contact the Gulf County Emergency Management at (850)229-9110.

    Sandbags are available at the following locations: Howard Creek Fire Station, 7132 Doc Whitfield Road; City of Wewahitchka Public Works, 318 S. 7th Street, Wewahitchka.

    Washington County

    The Flood Warning continues for the Choctawhatchee River near Caryville (US Hwy 90) and at Bruce/Ebro (State Rd 20) until further notice or the warning is cancelled.

    At 8AM, Tuesday the stage at Caryville was 14.8 feet; flood Stage is 12.0 feet. Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. The river at Caryville will continue rising to near 17.1 feet by Thursday early afternoon then begin falling.

    At 8AM Tuesday the flood stage at Bruce/Ebro was 15.4 feet. Flood stage is 13.0 feet and moderate flooding is occurring with major flooding forecast. The river will continue to rise to near 20.6 feet by early Saturday morning.

    The Washington County Emergency Management Office is recommending voluntary evacuation for persons in low lying areas and/or those who feel threatened by rising waters.

    The American Red Cross in coordination with Washington County Emergency Management has opened a shelter at Ebro City Hall, 6620 Dog Track Road for residents seeking refuge from rising waters. Those who decide to take advantage of the shelter should bring the following items with them:

    1. Identification
    2. Important Medications
    3. Diapers, infant formula, baby foods if needed
    4. Bedding, pillows, blankets, etc.
    5. Puzzles, books, small games for children
    6. Special foods for restricted diets

    According to EOC officials this morning, more than 40 roads have been impacted, about 6 are closed. Public works still out assessing any damage that may have occurred over night from additional rain and river coming up. The Central Panhandle Chapter of the American Red Cross opened an emergency shelter at Ebro City Hall at 9 a.m.

    The Washington County Emergency Management Office urges all residents to use extreme caution when traveling on roadways. Remember road conditions are subject to change over night with the additional rain.

    Rain amounts totaling 2" -3" are expected overnight and into the early morning hours with higher amounts possible in some areas. Isolated damaging winds and perhaps a tornado will accompany this dangerous line of storms. Winds could be 40-50 mph with higher gusts and the flash flood watch remain in effect.

    River flood impacts will likely increase into late this week. The Southeast River Forecast Ctr. predicts substantial impacts along the Choctawhatchee River in Caryville and Ebro. It is vital that residents along the river take every precaution to protect life and property.
