More Flooding Threatens the Panhandle

Posted: Updated:

While the central Plains and Midwest have been burdened with snow and ice, the panhandle has been dealing more than its share of heavy rain. On Friday rainfall totals across the panhandle reached between 4 to 8 inches and for some low-lying areas that have poor drainage, the recent rain has led to flooding.

The city of Lynn Haven has low lying areas that typically flood during heavy downpours but some residents are ready for sunshine to return to the panhandle.  "I'm surprised we haven't had an overflow or anything like that yet...the roads are flooded it's getting old I'm tired of it," one Lynn Haven resident said.  But despite the resident says they will keep an eye on the water levels in their yard and stay off the roads this weekend.  "You just got to watch all these roads because they flood really better have no plans no plans on the roads," another Lynn Haven said.
