Marianna Man Charged with Grand Theft of a Vehicle

On 02-25-2013, Officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the Handi-Mart, located at 4177 Lafayette St. in reference to a stolen vehicle call in progress.

While en-route, police dispatch gave out a description of the vehicle, a white 2002 Dodge Durango SUV and its direction of travel. Responding officers saw the vehicle traveling East on Hwy 90, and attempted to make a traffic stop on the vehicle.

The vehicle proceeded East on Hwy 90, reaching speeds up to 85 mph, weaving in and out of traffic. The vehicle then proceeded to turn South onto Hwy 71. As the vehicle approached the I-10 on-ramp, the vehicle lost control, slid onto the shoulder and got stuck in the soft dirt and grass.

The driver of the vehicle fled on foot into a wooded area near the on-ramp, but was soon apprehended by officers. Assisting was deputies from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and Troopers from The Florida Highway Patrol who helped set up a perimeter and assisted in the drivers capture.

The driver of the stolen SUV was identified as Issac Ahmed Robinson Al-Sherrif Mount, 34 yrs old of Holly Hill Dr. Marianna, Fla.

Mount is being charged with  (1) Aggravated. Fleeing and Eluding (2) Aggravated Willful Wanton Reckless Driving (3) No Drivers License and (4) Grand Theft Auto.

Mount is being held at the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance on the above named charges.
