It's not everyday that a national television show makes a stop in your home town, but the residents of Defuniak Springs have welcomed the Food Network program, "Restaurant Impossible" since Wednesday as they re-do a family owned restaurant.
News 13 was on scene at "Mom and Dad's Italian" on highway 90 Thursday for the final day of shooting.
The premise of the show is pretty simple.
Renowned Chef, Robert Irvine, brings his skills as a restaurateur and 10 thousand dollars to completely redesign and revamp struggling restaurants in communities across the country.
"Mom and Dad's" has been a staple to some in the area, but many locals who stopped by to watch the busy carpenters and designers work their magic said they were excited to see what the popular show would do.
Thursday wrapped two days of shooting with a grand re-opening for those with reservations.
Defuniak resident, Susan Davis, said her curiosity is raised and she looks forward to.
"I'm curious to see what they're able to do with it because we've always enjoyed it...found it very comfortable. So, we're curious to see what changes they are going to make to a restaurant that we've always found to be warm and comfortable and charming," said Davis.
"Restaurant Impossible" airs Wednesdays at 9 pm central time on Food Network.
