Sewage Leak Leads to Swimming Advisory in Massalina Bayou

Posted: Updated:

A power outage at Lift Station #4, located at 532 E. 6th Street in Panama City resulted in approximately 750 gallons of untreated wastewater to flow into a storm drain which empties into Massalina Bayou.

Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria and parasites.

The Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in Massalina Bayou between 6th Street and Beach Drive until further notice.
