Man Charged with Stealing Copper Wire from Radio Station Tower

On 03-06-2013, Officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to a call on Hillcrest Dr. in Marianna. While there the officer noticed some industrial copper wiring.

The officer was then called away to a theft of copper wiring that occurred at the radio tower of the WJAQ radio station. The officer noticed that the wiring taken and the wiring he found earlier were of the same kind.

Shortly afterwards, officers went to the address from the earlier call, and located more of the copper wire. Arrested in this case was a Robert Wendell Scott Jr. of Hillcrest Dr. Marianna, Fla. 20 years of age. He is being charged with (1) Grand Theft over $10,000 (2) dealing in Stolen Property (3) And Violation of State Probation. He is being held in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await First Appearance.
