Two thousand Gulf Power customers lost power after a car crashed into a pole early Thursday morning, according to a Gulf Power representative.
According to the Panama City Police Department, there was a single-vehicle crash around 2:20 a.m. on the 3200 block of Frankford Avenue. Authorities said the driver showed signs of alcohol intoxication. He was not injured.
A Gulf Power representative said the majority of power was back up by 4:17 a.m., but 255 customers still didn't have power restored by 7:45 a.m. This was because the entire pole needed to be replaced.
