An age-old tradition of the Emerald Isle is alive and kicking in Bay County. The Niall O'Leary School of Irish Dance teaches youngsters a fun activity, but there's a competitive element too.
The school's instuctor is Teresa Kane. She moved here 20 years ago from County Cork, Ireland and started the school in 2003. Teresa says the students have a lot of fun but the focus is on competitive dance. The youngsters take part in competition around the Southeast in places like Atlanta, Orlando, Memphis and New Orleans.
Even though her students are made up of mostly kids, Kane wants to encourage adults to take part as well. Classes are held four nights a week at the dance studio on Luverne Avenue in Panama City. Contact Teresa at 850-276-0200.
