Man Sentenced to Five Years in Prison After Violating Porn Probation

Posted: Updated:

Christopher Lee Roeters was sentenced Monday in Calhoun County to five years in prison for violating his probation by possessing child pornography.

Roeters, 39, of Kinard, was placed on five years probation on Aug. 3, 2011, after pleading no contest to failing to register as a sex offender. On Sept. 13, 2012, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement was alerted that child pornography had been viewed from a device at Roeters' residence. FDLE and Calhoun County deputies served a warrant at his residence and Roeters admitted to officers that he uploaded the image to his online photo account and viewed it on his cell phone.

On Monday, Roeters admitted to Assistant State Attorney Ana Garcia and Circuit Judge Allen Register that he'd violated his probation. Register then sentenced him to five years in prison, the maximum allowed.
