The Panhandle is known for its commitment to our veterans, we're constantly reaching out to those who risk their lives for our freedom.
On Tuesday, several groups invited more than a dozen veterans to a day at the movies. The Rotary Club, Warriors' Watch Riders and the martin theatre hosted veterans from the Sims Veteran's Home.
On the big screen was a timeless classic, 'Some Like It Hot.' Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon starred in the movie.
Those in attendance say they felt a sense of nostalgia, remembering the days they used to frequent the theater with their families and wives.
Jim Bailey, with the martin theater says they're honored to host this event. "They sacrificed, they laid their lives on the table for us and the least we can do is honor them and show them and we appreciate the service that they did."
A majority of the participants were Korean and Vietnam War veterans.
