Two Charged in Holmes County Burglaries

Posted: Updated:

The Holmes County Sheriff's Office reports 2 Graceville men have been charges with a series of burglaries in northern Holmes County.

On March 11, 2013 the Holmes County Sheriff's Office responded to a burglary in the Pittman community in which a firearm and jewelry were taken.  Later that evening, Deputies responded to another residence in the Poplar Springs community where a large amount of jewelry was taken from the residence.

Investigators were able to locate neighbors who had seen a suspicious vehicle near the scene of both burglaries.  Investigators were then able to identify the vehicle and both subjects.  Investigators were also able to recover items taken from the residences in Holmes County as well as firearms taken from a residence in Washington County.

The individuals' charges were:

26 year-old Justin Matthew Ducker of Graceville, Florida

  • Armed Burglary
  • Burglary of a Dwelling
  • Grand Theft
  • Grand Theft of a firearm
  • Felony Criminal Mischief
  • Dealing in Stolen Property
  • Felon in Possession of a Firearm (4 counts)

60 year-old Ronald Vito Palumbo of Graceville, Florida

  • Principal to Burglary of a Dwelling
  • Principal to Grand Theft

Both subjects face charges in Washington County, Florida as well.  Sheriff Tim Brown states that "neighbors' looking out for neighbors is what solves cases like these. People may see something, but not realize what they were witnessing at the time.   Because of the communities involvement, investigators were able to identify and recover some of the stolen property and that would not be possible without the community's involvement"   Sheriff Brown ask that anyone with information on illegal or suspicious activity contact us at 850-547-4421 or at
