Two Held on Drug Charges in Parker

Posted: Updated:

The Parker Police department has arrested two Parker residents on various narcotic related charges.  Arrested were Kenneth Joseph Murray (21 years of age) and Shawna Beth Brown (24 years of age).

Both have been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute Within 1000 feet of a Park, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance-Alprazolam, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Use of an Electronic Device to Traffic in a Controlled Substance.  Murray has also been charged with Violation of Probation.

In March of this year Governor Rick Scott signed into law new legislation banning synthetic controlled substances.  In this case police recovered over 100 grams of the substance along with packaging materials and U. S. Currency.

The two were arrested after police learned that the two was selling the substance from their residence which was across the street from a city park and within 1000 feet of two churches.  Both subjects are being held at the Bay county Jail pending a court appearance on Tuesday.  The Florida Department of Corrections Division of Parole and Probation assisted in this case.
