The Betsy Ann Riverboat set sail for the first time from it's new home tonight. The steel paddle boat now makes its home in St. Andrews.
The inaugural cruise was invite only and Bay County commissioners and Panama City officials were in attendance.
Captain of the vessel Rick Ackerman says the boat is a great fit in St. Andrews and he looks forward to getting acquainted with the community.
"There's two things going on in St. Andrews that we are excited about," said Ackerman. "Number one is the history in the area, which fits along with the boat, and the second is the revitalization in St. Andrew's and we are just really excited to be a part of that growth."
The Betsy Ann Riverboat moved from it's previous dock in Sun Harbor last week. The boat has been running for over 10 years in Bay County.
