The 2013 Mask Parade & Gala benefiting Covenant Hospice, took place on Saturday, April 13 from 6p.m. – 11 p.m. at the Edgewater Beach Resort. Supporters from the Bay and Gulf County communities came to experience the Under the Sea theme with beautiful decorations inspired by Atlantis, a live band, steak dinner, and of course, the silent and live auctions. Covenant Hospice is proud to announce that more than 700 guests helped to raise $92,000 in net revenue.
Development and Communications Manager Nanisa Anderson said, "We could not raise these funds without the generous support of our community as well as the compassionate care for our patients and families. The care that our clinical staff gives our patients and their families is a direct reflection of the success of this event."
Money generated from this signature event will directly affect patients of Covenant Hospice in Bay and Gulf County. Not only does Covenant Hospice provide compassionate palliative care to their patients, the organization also educate families on end-of-life care, provide chaplains that make house visits, volunteer services, bereavement services, and indigent care.
Covenant Hospice cares for anyone regardless of their ability to pay and because of this, fundraising efforts are critical to enable the great staff to continue their job of upholding the mission of "adding life into days when days can no longer be added to life." The lively scene of the packed event at the Edgewater Beach Resort Grand Ballroom serves as an indication of the great value that Covenant Hospice brings to our area. Plans for the 12th annual Mask Parade and Gala are already underway, so get ready for another meaningful event this time next year. Contact Nanisa Anderson (850) 785-3040 for more information.
