Circuit Judge Shonna Gay sentenced a Wewahitchka woman to 25 years in prison Thursday for shooting her boyfriend in the mouth.
Assistant State Attorney Bob Pell took Esther Jean Wilson to trial March 22 and showed jurors that she shot Walter L. Wright Jr. during an argument Feb. 5, 2012. Wright refused to testify at the trial, but jurors still found Wilson guilty as charged of aggravated battery with a firearm causing great bodily harm.
Wilson, 53, of 775 N. Highway 71, was charged under the state's 10-20-Life law and is not eligible for early release from prison for good behavior.
