It is an easy way to get rewards to all of your favorite shops with one card. Instead of having a million punch cards for different stores, Downtown Panama City businesses are making it easy with SpotOn.
Now, customers are seeing spots. Trigo Deli is one of many businesses already using SpotOn as a marketing tool. Owner Gilbert Hamati says it's spot on with what his customers want.
"I mean they love it," said Hamati. "Who doesn't say no to free food."
SpotOn is a reward program that works like a punch card. The more visits, the more spots, the more rewards.
"Well the incentive is to reward my customers," said Hamati. "You know, I have so many new customers here and hopefully I'm creating new ones as well."
Right down the road from Trigo, Stephanie Carnley at says the same-- SpotOn is a sweet deal in a sweet business.
"They are excited to get something for free," said Carnley. "So, it's a great way to reward your customers."
But it's not only rewarding the customer. Carnley says she uses it to her advantage too.
"It tracks your marketing, because when they came in and scanned the card to originally you have to put your email in," said Carnely. "So, it tells you how many customers you get, how many times they check into your business, weekly or monthly, and then you give them rewards."
The trend is a nationwide movement out of California, but has quickly made its way to bay county.
Business owners like Hamati and Carnley hope the trend will continue and spread.
"I think its going to catch on I think everybody should do it," said Carnley.
"Hopefully, it will," said Hamati. "That's the whole idea...the more businesses the merrier."
Currently 33 businesses in Bay county are using the SpotOn marketing tool.
