The crank of a motorcycle engine is a familiar sound in Panama City Beach as the 15th Annual Spring Thunder Beach is underway.
"We're coming down to celebrate, have a good time, just get away from work, from everyday life," said Lee Burgett, who rode down with his buddies and wife from Tennessee.
"Got married like three days ago and we decided we're heading down here on our honeymoon," said Burgett.
While it's Burgett's first Thunder Beach, riding on two wheels is all too familiar.
"Been riding since I was eight years old," said Burgett."My dad was in a club, so when I came of age, I just followed in the father's footsteps."
Thunder Beach has become a tradition in Panama City Beach, bringing bikers from all over in both the Fall and Spring.
A handful of venues open their doors to the riders, where they're able to enjoy food, music, and a variety of different entertainment through Sunday.
"Come here every year, Spring and Fall," said K.C. Cameron, who has made it a tradition of his own to come from Georgia.
"The atmosphere, the people, you're always meeting somebody different," said Cameron.
Such as Panama City Beach resident Peter Frye, who enjoys the luxury of taking part in the rally without having to go too far.
"I just go down the road a mile," said Frye, who says riding a motorcycle became a hobby of his about 12 years ago
"It was like a fever," said Frye.
But regardless of when each started to ride or where they're from, they all look forward to the next few days where they plan to create memories with olds friends and new ones.
