Mental Health First Aid Course Began In Northwest Florida

The first ever Mental Health First Aid course kicked off at the campus of Florida State University, Panama City on Wednesday May 1, 2013.  The 12-hour course teaches participants how to respond and recognize a situation when there is a mental health crisis. 

"This is huge it's a step in a positive direction for mental health and I believe it provides awareness for the community it reduces the stigma that's attached to mental health disorders," Life Management Peer Specialist, Emilee Jones said.
