Morning Anchor Jessica Foster is on maternity leave, as she and her husband Jonah spend time with their newborn baby girl. But their married life took a bit of an untraditional turn a few years ago. Jessica suffered with endometriosis and was told she wouldn't be able to conceive a child. But that didn't stop this loving young couple as they set out to adopt a baby.
They say when most people think of adoption, they think of keeping the information private, or closed. But they chose an open adoption and fell in love with the birth family.
"I feel that God chose that route for us, Jessica Foster says, because looking at it, you know that could be a scary thing, but it just seems so natural."
Jessica and her husband of nine years, Jonah, say they think that it is going to be aswesome for baby Isabella, because she will never have any questions about why and who her birth family is.
They are sharing their story of adoption in hopes of helping other people in similar circumstances. Whether it be a young birth mom, or adoptive parents, they want to share their story about the beautiful process of adoption.
Families come in all shapes and sizes, says Foster, and just because you don't have a traditional journey to motherhood or fatherhood, doesn't make it any less special.
