The Liberty County Bulldogs made the deepest playoff run of any area team last season, falling to eventual Class 1A State Champion Northview in the state semi finals. The Dawgs finished 10-3 on the year, 4-0 in district play. Liberty loses 12 seniors, which accounts for 18 starting positions on both sides of the ball, but head coach Grant Grantham says his guys are working hard, and while they may be young, many have experience under their belt.
"Anytime you go deep in the playoffs, I think it really helps you out for next year," said Coach Grantham. "You get extra practice time with your underclassmen. I think that's helped us out a lot this spring. But we did lose a lot. We've got some young pups, I'm not calling them Bulldogs just yet. Hopefully they're going to grow up and do a great job for us."
Liberty will play their spring game against rival Blountstown on May 16th. Kick-off is set for 6:00/CT.
