Jackson Co. Sheriff's Office Says Marianna Armed Robbery Could Be Linked to 9 Others

Posted: Updated:

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is still searching for those responsible for last week's armed robbery.

Security footage shows two suspects inside the Greens Supermarket on Highway 71 in Marianna, one of them pointing a gun at the store clerk.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office says suspects fired shots at the store door before striking the clerk with a gun, and taking money and cigarettes.

Jackson County Sheriff Lou Roberts says he's currently working with other law enforcement agencies in Alabama and Georgia since this case shows similarities of nine other armed robberies that have taken place there in the last few months.

"These individuals appear to be very violent," said Jackson County Sheriff Lou Roberts. "Guns have been discharged in several locations and if this is a connection between the South Alabama and Southwest Georgia robberies in those cases up there, they have even become more violent then they have in our robbery," said Roberts.

Sheriff Roberts says it's extremely important for citizens to be cautious of their surroundings especially late at night. If you have any information, you're urged to call Crimestoppers at 785-TIPS.
