Bay District School Board Looks to Update Tobacco Policy

Posted: Updated:

Electronic cigarettes are becoming more and more popular, even among older high school students on campus.

Superintendent Bill Husfelt says technically smoking vapor or e-cigarettes isn't against school rules because it simply isn't written in the policy.

However, the board approved to advertise a change to the student discipline policy, which will prohibit all tobacco products on campus. Husfelt hopes the change will be approved and in effect before the upcoming school year.
