Florida's Legislative Session may have ended in May, but the ramifications of some new laws will be around for years to come. Niceville Senator and President of the Senate, Don Gaetz, insisted lawmakers come up with an ethics reform plan before they voted on anything else..
Sen. Gaetz says "the ethics bill we passed is being hauled as the strongest ethics bill in 30 years, puts the financial disclosures of every public official on line, so that everybody in florida can find out what their ah, public officials owe, what they own, who they owe." Secondly he say, it closes the revolving door that is allowed legislators to become lobbyists, then turn around and lobby their colleges and lobby executive agencies.
The legislature also passed election reform laws. Sen. Gaetz says it's not a one size fits all, so each county can handle elections the best way it suits them.
